Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I service my Ford?

Routine maintenance depends on your model, engine, recommended oil type and driving habits but is typically between 5,000 to 10,000 miles under normal driving conditions. Your vehicle's Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor will alert you when it's time for service. We also recommend regular tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks to help keep your Ford performing its best.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended to ensure the fastest service, but we'll always do our best to accommodate walk-in customers whenever our schedule allows.

Do you use Genuine Ford Parts?

Yes. We use Ford Genuine Parts and Motorcraft® parts whenever possible. These components are engineered specifically for your Ford to help maintain its performance, reliability, and warranty coverage.

Can you service a Ford I purchased somewhere else?

Absolutely! Whether you purchased your Ford from Western Slope Ford or another dealership, our factory-trained technicians are happy to service your vehicle.

How long does an oil change take?

Most oil changes and routine maintenance visits take about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your vehicle and any additional services requested.

Do you offer a shuttle service or loaner vehicles?

Yes! We offer complimentary shuttle service within approximately a 20-mile radius of the dealership. For longer repairs, complimentary loaner vehicles are available for customers who purchased their vehicle from Western Slope Auto. If your vehicle was purchased elsewhere, discounted rental vehicles are available during your repair. (Subject to availability-please ask your Service Advisor for details.)

How do I know if I need new tires? Common signs include tread depth below 2/32", visible wear bars, cracking or bulging on the sidewall, and reduced traction in rain or snow. We check tread depth at every visit and will let you know if replacement is approaching.

What do my dashboard warning lights mean?

Your Ford's dashboard alerts are designed to notify you when your vehicle needs attention. Click here for a list of the most common ones. If a warning light appears and you're unsure what it means, stop by or give us a call. We'll be happy to help diagnose the issue before it becomes a larger repair.

Do you service diesel Ford trucks?

Yes! Our technicians are trained to service many Ford diesel models, including Super Duty® trucks equipped with the Power Stroke® diesel engine. Contact us to schedule maintenance or repairs.

Do you offer financing or payment plans for repairs?

Yes! We partner with Sunbit to help make unexpected repairs more manageable. Qualified customers can split their service bill into convenient monthly payments with a quick application process.

How do I check if my Ford has an open recall?

You can check for open safety recalls anytime using your VIN on Ford's Recall Lookup page, or simply contact our service department and we'll be happy to check for you.

Will servicing my Ford at Western Slope Ford keep my warranty valid?

Yes. Having your vehicle serviced at Western Slope Ford using Ford-approved procedures and Genuine Ford or Motorcraft® parts helps ensure your vehicle is maintained according to factory recommendations and protects applicable warranty coverage.

Do you work with my aftermarket warranty company?

Yes! We work with many aftermarket warranty companies and can help coordinate covered repairs and claims. Coverage can vary by warranty provider and contract, so we recommend contacting our service team before your appointment so we can verify your coverage and help make the process as easy as possible.
